After a short class about alpacas, we went to the barn to meet the alpacas. We had a supply of pea pods on hand for feeding. The pea pods are from our garden - we eat the peas, the 'pacas get the pods. Pea pods are a favorite of the alpacas. Then the kids tried their hand at felting around a film canister to create a cat toy to take home. We had a picnic lunch and then went back to visit the alpacas again. The older kids walked an alpaca through a simple obstacle course. Too soon, the day was over and everyone had to say good-bye. More pictures....
First, everyone learns about alpacas. More pictures.... |
